Terry Jones’ Fave British Vogue Covers From His Time
Rule Breaking Covers
Terry Jones, the founder of i-D Magazine and the former Art Director of British Vogue under the direction of Editor at that time, Beatrix Miller, chose his favorite British Vogue covers for i-D.
During his time between 1972 and 1977, Terry was set free to break all the rules that existed back then and he gifted the fashion world with rule breaking covers. The first within his favorites is the January 1974 cover by David Bailey and styled by Grace Coddington, where Anjelica Huston and Manolo Blahnik were the models and photographed on a trip to Corsica and the south of France. Within other favorites of him are; the accidental March 1974 cover with Bianca Jagger photographed by Eric Boman on the balcony of the Paris Opera house, the green jelly cover from February 1977, Jerry Hall's first cover with a blue phone tucked into her swim cap styled by Grace Coddington and the Diamond Jubilee cover of October 1976, amongst others.
